Simple Recipes For A Working Family
By Patricia Gorginas
Simple recipes are easy to prepare meals for a busy hungry family,
back from a long day working, to earn a decent income.
The children may be waiting for mom and dad to get back from
work, to have a decent nutritious meal. They want to avoid dull
take away or snacks full of preservatives and fat and do not want
to become another statistic in the rise of obesity in children.
Feeding Your Family A Decent Meal
A decent meal need not be a complex meal. It can be a simple
recipe for a delicious dinner. Today, most families have to have
two incomes to get by. Some women work because they want to and
others work because they have to. Either way, it makes homemade
cooking a little harder to come by.
Neither spouse wants to come home from a long day of work to
tackle two hours of cooking, and you can count me among those
people. I love to cook for my family, but I simply don’t
have the time to review my options.
I’d rather spend my free time with my daughter instead of hunched
over my stove. I look for simple recipes that are nutritious and
easy so we can have the best of both worlds.
You can find simple recipes anywhere, and you don’t
have to worry about the taste. Many of them are just as tasty
as more complicated ones, but it will depend on your taste. Perhaps
I was just raised to enjoy simple meals.
A Decent Dinner
A good roast, potatoes, and some vegetables are all I need for
a decent dinner. My mom was a single mother for a long time, and
she worked full time while going to school. She didn’t have time
for anything other than simple recipes, but they never lacked
for taste, and they were good for us too.
One of the best places to find simple recipes is by watching
the Food Network. Some of the shows features detailed recipes,
but others give you quick and delicious meals you can cook up
in a half an hour, and they are always something you family will
love.
You can find many of these simple recipes by looking online at
their website. They have many listed. You can even find the recipes
by chef or cook. If you like Alton Brown, you can find him quite
easily on that site, or you can go out and buy one of his cookbooks
if your so choose.
Mix And Match
You may have many simple recipes already at your disposal, and
you may be surprised how easily you can come up with your own.
You know what you family likes, and it is easy to mix and match
foods to come up with new stuff.
There are many foods that are so diverse you can use them in
almost any type of meal. You may also want to encourage your family
to come up with their own simple recipes so you can all take turns
cooking for each other. Family involvement in cooking lessens
the burden on one cook to prepare everything, after a long day
at work.
A Simple Meal For The Whole Family
It would be nice to arrive home from work and have the smell
of a nice cooked meal filling up your nostrils. And the table
can be quickly set and the simple meal can be enjoyed by the whole
family. Its all in the family. Discussing and helping each other
for better outcomes.
This would result in less stress and more time to relax and prepare
for the next day. You may even wake up in the morning, in a joyful
mood. Sunshine every day. Now wouldn’t that be something
different!

Did You Know?
What are the kitchen basics I need?
Kitchen basics that every kitchen should have are
pots and pans (in a variety of sizes), measuring cups, measuring spoons,
mixing bowls and an assortment of kitchen gadgets that make life easier.
One of these gadgets is a can opener. Being forced to saw off
the bottom of a can could take a little of the fervor away from
cooking. Also consider keeping whisks, spatulas and tongs as part
of your cooking basics.
Another item basic that is used often is a drainer/strainer.
These can come in the form of bowls or be part of a boiling pan
set. It is used to drain spaghetti water from the pasta or can
be used for anything similar.
