Party Ideas For Christmas Office Colleagues
By Katerina Octanova
Perhaps you had a holiday party last year and even though everyone
had a good time, you want to make it even better this year. In
that case you will need to get together a few good party ideas
for Christmas to help ensure that everyone will have a wonderful
time again.
There are several different party themes from which to choose
that are good for parties with kids, your family, friends and
even co-workers.
If you have ever been asked to head up the office Christmas party,
then you know that it can be a frustrating task. Yet with a little
bit of planning you can throw one together, if not effortlessly,
then at least you won't be pulling your hair out along the way.
You first need to decide what type of party to have.
Choosing A Location
Do you want one that is casual or formal? Will the break room
at the office suffice or will you need to rent a venue? You can
start by asking your co-workers to vote on either a casual or
formal affair, which will allow you to go ahead and choose from
the plethora of Christmas party themes at your disposal.
Party ideas for Christmas menus will depend largely upon location
and style of venue is chosen. If it was decided that it will be
at the office, then perhaps you could have a buffet style, either
catered or have everyone bring a dish.
Banquet Hall With Catering
Of course, if it is to be a formal affair, then arrange for a
location such as a banquet hall; often when you do this the manager
of the facility can arrange to have the food prepared or catered
for you.
This part of party planning really does depend a great deal on
whether or not it is to be a formal occasion, so that you'll know
exactly what direction the food planning should take.
Cash Bar Helps To Control The Amount Of Drinking
One of the tough things about Christmas party planning for an
office party is the refreshments; naturally soft drinks and punch
should be provided. However, it can be tough deciding whether
or not to serve alcohol.
You want people to have a good time, yet you also know that office
Christmas parties can get out of hand. You may want to consider
a cash bar as that allows people to drink but they may be less
likely to drink as much if it costs them money.
Designated Drivers To Take Your Colleagues Home
You should also have designated drivers, or if it is in a hotel,
then there is the option of revelers getting a room for the night
and safely sleeping it off.
When considering the different office party ideas for Christmas
this year, don't forget the decorations. A small tree and some
well placed simple decorations may be in order.
Raffle Off Centerpieces
If it is to be at a hall or ballroom, then they may provide the
tree; if not be sure to include one in your decorations. You may
also want to include a few centerpieces that you can raffle off
or give away as door prizes.
If you will be holding the festivities at the office, centerpieces
can be given as prizes if you play Christmas games.

Did You Know?
What are some Christmas party ideas for adults?
Adults have a little more leeway when it
comes to great Christmas party ideas. A very popular idea is to
have a "Dirty Santa or Dirty Christmas" gathering with your friends,
neighbors and family.
The idea is to set a maximum price on a
gift. $20.00 should be plenty. You then wrap the present but do
not put who it is too or put who it is from. Then everyone puts
the gifts in a pile and draws out numbers. In sequential order
you play the game. A person draws from the pile of gifts and opens
it. It may be something good or it may be a gag gift.
The next person in line can either steal
the gift from the person or choose something from the pile. This
keeps going on until everyone has either opened a gift or stolen
one. Then the second round is played. This is where it gets interesting.
Gifts get stolen until they have been traded no more than three
times.
At that point the gift is "dead" and it
cannot be traded again. People laugh and have a great time with
this. Add in some finger foods and some adult beverages and you
have yourself a great party where everyone gets to know each other.
