Party Ideas To Entertain Christmas Guests
By Katerina Octanova
If your holiday is going to include a Christmas party, then you
are in luck. There are so many different party ideas for this
time of year that the list of ideas is almost endless. The good
news is that most of the ideas are also fairly easy to pull off
and can be quite a bit of fun.
One idea is to have a "wrap a gift for Christmas" party.
This involves having everyone bring a bunch of presents to one
location and start wrapping.
Normally, everyone brings their own wrapping paper, etc.; however,
if you are hosting the party, then it is always a good idea to
have extra paper, along with lots of bows, ribbons, tape, scissors
and whatever else may be needed.
Finger Foods And A Variety Of Drinks
You may also want to include refreshments. It does not have to
be much, just some finger foods and drinks. You can decide to
wrap all of your gifts at one time or perhaps go to different
locations on different days.
Since the holidays can be quite busy and hectic, anything that
you do to make things go easier and quicker will usually be a
big help. This is one reason why certain party ideas, such as
a Christmas cookie decorating party can be both helpful and fun.
Baking Favourite Cookie Recipes
This is also a great holiday party idea for kid related fun as
well; you can send out party invitations asking everyone to bring
their favorite cookie recipe and the ingredients to your home.
Once there, everyone can start making their favorites and the
kids can help by decorating the ones that are done, while the
adults get another batch or two into the oven. Everyone gets to
sample some plus you will have some great goodies to give as gifts
or use for desserts.
Everyone Helping People In The Neighbourhood
Another good decorating Christmas party idea is to deck the outside
of your home. This could be a great neighborhood party idea, especially
if there is an elderly or disabled person in the neighborhood
who really needs help with stringing the lights and hanging decorations.
This type of party would not make them feel like they were accepting
charity, as everyone would be helping everyone else. Even those
who do not normally decorate may suddenly feel the urge or perhaps
they would be willing to set up a hot chocolate table outside
so that everyone could get warmed up.
Traditional Jewish Food For Hanukkah
Keep in mind that your holiday party ideas can be as diverse
as you want them to be. For instance, it does not have to be centered
on any one religion; it can be two or several. Start by including
that friend or family who did not receive an invitation last year
because you thought they may be a little uncomfortable since they
celebrate Hanukkah.
You do not have to go way out of your way, just include a few
small touches, such as a traditional Jewish food like sufgani,
or jelly doughnuts. If children will be there perhaps you can
have little gift bags with toys and candy, such as gelt and dreidels.

Did You Know?
What type of budget should I set for my Christmas party?
Christmas parties can be as extravagant or
as simple as you want them to be. If you are planning on hosting
more than one then you may want to limit your budget. Just as
with any party you need to set a budget before you go looking
for different Christmas party ideas.
If you are on a very limited budget then
you need to look for inexpensive games and look for ways to cut
your entertainment costs. Food is a very big portion of the budget
and this includes alcoholic beverages. If you are serving alcohol
at your party you may want to ask friends or family members to
bring their own favorite drink concoctions.
This is not considered rude. But if you
are worried about what people will think then just do away with
the alcohol. You can have just as much fun without the alcohol
as you can with. Once you set your budget stick to it. It may
be tempting to have that 8 foot lifelike Santa at your party but
you can probably do without it.
The same thing goes for those imported
reindeer just to decorate your lawn. There are tons of Christmas
party ideas for those on a budget. Just start looking at different
magazines and websites to get tips on how to make your party budget
friendly.
