Party Food To Please Your Guests

By Barry J Smallhorn

Party food for your guests, can be rather predictable. If you want to please your guests, then you can place a variety of savories, on a couple of tables, towards the side of the room. You may notice a lot of the guests gravitating to these tables. Different guests may require different types of food.

For example, if you have a small number of friends to see the Super Bowl on your large HD screen, then you can place their favorite choice of chips, dips and beer. But, if you are having a formal dinner party, then you may need more food planning, to ensure all your guests are able to eat the food. Some of your guests may be vegetarian, diabetics or on special diets.

If you are organising a childrens’ party, then you will need to review your options and ensure the party food will be enjoyed by children.

Improving On The Tradition

Having the right party food can really make a big difference at your next gathering. A lot of parties have a certain kind of traditional food that goes with them, but if you aren’t afraid to mix it up, you can make the party even better. Who says you can not improve on tradition?

I am a pretty typical man’s man in many ways, but I love to cook. Nonetheless, when I would have Super Bowl parties, poker parties, and that sort of event, I would use the typical party foods. I would have chips and dip, beer, and some sodas in case anyone wanted them. Everyone was always pretty happy with the food for parties, and no one ever complained.

People Were Ecstatic At The Variety Of Food

Then one day, I decided to try something different. I figured that there were so many delicious and easy party foods that there was no sense in sticking with the same thing every single time.

I made some hors d’oeuvres, a seven layer bean dip, and even a light meal of sandwiches. When I set up the sandwiches, people were ecstatic. Although they made fun of me for being such a cook, I can tell that they really liked what I had brought. People had even more fun than usual, and they all came back for the next party when I was making food for Christmas party, I also decided to be a little bit adventures.

Going Against Traditional Holiday Food

I had tried out this new recipe on my wife, and she absolutely loved it. I know that there are some very traditional Christmas party food dishes, but I wanted to try a few other things.

Instead of having ham, I decided to make game birds. I took some roasted pheasants, prepared bread putting, and all in all, went against normal holiday tradition. Although I was taking a risk, it turned out great. People loved the party food that I made.

Candy Traditions During Halloween And Christmas

Of course, it is always nice to have a few classics. You should not, for example, have Christmas without eggnog. This is obvious to a lot of people, but some people forget the candy at Halloween parties.

Candy might seem like an unnecessary party food, but it is part of the spirit of the holiday. Without it, Halloween feel somehow empty and hollow. Even cupcakes won’t make up for it not being there. There are some traditions, after all, that you should never mess with.

Easter Eggs At An Easter Party

Just like you cannot have a party without Easter eggs during Easter. If you are having an Easter party, you need to supply the traditional Easter eggs, as many of your guests will be looking for them when they come to your party. Especially children. Some of the children may even be looking for the Easter bunny to give out chocolate Easter eggs.

If you are having a birthday party, then you will need a birthday cake. I always order my favourite cake from the cake shop, as I do not have the skills nor the time to make a delicious cake as the professionals make at the cake shop. They know my favourite cake is the cheese cake and my wife loves the teapot cake. So, every year I get her a teapot cake for her birthday, cause I know she loves it.

For my children, when it is their birthday, I get them an ice cream cake. The little one is a fan of Thomas The Tank Engine, so I got him a cake with Thomas The Tank Engine on it. It was delicious party food.

Did You Know?

A party is not a party, without the proper supplies. It does not matter if it is a Halloween Ghoul Fest or a brazen Bachelorette party. A party needs more than just guests to be a hit. You may not go all out with the supplies but at least some are in order.

There is a wide variety of themes available to center your party around. Maybe you are in need of a Fantasy Island adventure complete with treasure chests and gold coins. You might even be hosting a baby shower with a popular cartoon character as the theme. Whatever party accessories you need, you can find them.
