Kitchen Sinks To Clean Your Kitchen Tools
By David J Phillipson
Kitchen sinks are an important part of any kitchen. This is the
area of your kitchen where you maintain the hygiene of your kitchen
tools and keep them all clean for the health of your family and
visitors to your home, who stay over for dinner.
You may use a dishwasher for glasses and plates, but if you want
to clean the pots and pans and other kitchen tools you use to
make your meals, then you will need dual kitchen sinks.
I like the kitchen sinks that are deeper, as it is easier to
clean the bigger kitchen tools like pots and pans. They help keep
all my kitchen tools clean and I have a large drying area next
to the kitchen sinks, so that they all dry out naturally.
Remodeling Your Kitchen
Deeper and dual kitchen sinks are an option you should consider
when remodeling your kitchen.
There are so many things to consider when remodeling a kitchen
or designing a kitchen in a new home. The homes that seem to have
the most efficient kitchens in them are those that are designed
by people that do a great deal of cooking.
Recently several housing developments in the metropolitan area
close to our home had open houses at several homes. This parade
of homes features not only newly built homes but also remodeled
and restored homes. Going on the tour is a great way to get ideas
for remodeling.
We are going to remodel our kitchen and I am so glad that we
went on the parade of homes tour prior to finalizing any of the
plans. One of the features that I liked in one of the homes was
the kitchen sinks.
Deeper Kitchen Sinks
Instead of having the standard size sinks this kitchen featured
a deeper sink, which is great for washing pots and pans. The deeper
kitchen sinks offer the ability to do hand washing of clothing
as well as hot water baths for canning.
As soon as I saw them I knew that I wanted to incorporate the
deeper kitchen sinks into our remodeling plans.
Narrow Pull Out Pantry
Another feature that I liked in one of the homes was the use
of a narrow pull out pantry. This kitchen had a narrow space between
the refrigerator and the wall.
The space was used to build a cabinet front that matched the
other cabinets in the kitchen. When you pulled on the handles
a full shelf rolled out that had storage for canned goods and
other food.
The cabinet ran from the floor to the ceiling and had two separate
roll out storage areas. This was a very efficient use for what
ordinarily is dead space in a room.
I also liked the feature of having additional kitchen sinks by
the cook top, but I knew that this feature would increase our
plumbing budget too much.
Additional Kitchen Sinks
Having additional kitchen sinks for cooking when the others are
full of dishes would make things so much easier, but the expense
for this feature went over our budget.
I am a very visual person so it was very helpful for me to see
the features in the actual rooms rather than seeing them on display
or on drawings. We called our general contractor and let him know
the features we wanted added to the remodeling job.
He was one of the featured contractors in the show, so he was
glad that we liked the ideas he had used in other homes.
I took him to our kitchen showed him where we wanted to put the
new kitchen sinks and pantry in the new remodeled kitchen. As
he has done similar work before, he knew what to do and was very
pleasant.
We cannot wait to see the new dual deeper sinks, and a floor
to wall pull out pantry between the refrigerator and the wall.
He gave us a good price and we are now waiting for him to remodel
our kitchen to include the new kitchen sinks.
