Ideas for birthday parties are available online, in print and in other media. A lot of the ideas include a theme and a location.

There are different ideas for different parties. If its a birthday party for children, then you need a theme where children will have fun. Maybe have a clown with children’s games and a nice teapot cake with candles.

If its a birthday party for adults, then you will need an adult party theme to keep it interesting. You may have a Roman Toga party where all the guests will have to dress in Ancient Roman togas. That will keep the revelry going.

You will also need to think about a location for your party. Do you want to save on costs by having it at home? You can pay a little more and have it at a restaurant or at a reception center. Or maybe at your local Scout Hall.

Again it depends on the guests. If they are children, then home may be ideal. If its for adults, you may want to hold your Roman Toga party somewhere outside your home. Children are known to be more tidy than adults.

I have two children, so twice a year I find myself wondering how I am going to manage to come up with yet more ideas for birthday parties.

I remember when I was a kid, my parents made a cake, threw some balloons out into the middle of the room, played some music on the 8-track and presto – we had a party.

As with anything else, birthday parties have evolved so much that they are almost like a competition to see who can throw the coolest party.

One of my favorite party games when I was young was the balloon game where everyone tied a balloon around each ankle and ran in a circle and tried to pop the balloons of the person in front of them.

I played this game at one of my daughter’s parties when she was six and every child in the room wanted to play it again and again.
