Hot Water To Maintain Hygiene In The Family Home

Hot water is essential to maintain hygiene and household needs around the house. You need hot water to have a shower, to wash your dishes, wash your clothes, mop the floor.

You need to keep your house clean or family members start catching colds and other diseases because of the unclean environment around the house.

Hot water is also an essential need for your frail relatives, who need access to hot water, to take care of their hygiene. You may visit them every now and then to make sure they are healthy and minor household chores are completed.

You may take out the garbage out for them, wash their dishes, wash their clothes, help them with other chores. You may supply them with a quality washing machine where all they have to do is drop their clothes in the machine and then press a magic button, half an hour later, they can take some of the clothes and put them in the drier.

The same with with the dishwasher. They need hot water to wash the dishes in the dishwasher. You want to make it as easy as possible for them.

If they need anything, you are only a phone call away.

Loses Hot Water

My mom has the same problem every winter. She loses her hot water first, then she is completely without water. She has to run around and find water for them to use, and then she has to find a way to heat up her pipes.

They had their old heating system taken out and a new one installed, and the new one does not help the pipes very much when the temperatures plummet. They are warmer in the house, but the pipes are more prone to freezing than ever before.

Hot Water Tank

She always calls me to tell me that her hot water is not heating up as it should, and I tell her to hurry up and call someone. She never does. Though her hot water tank seems to be working fine, the pipes that lead from the heater to her sink and tubs get so cold that it is luke-warm by the time it comes out.

There has to be something she can do. Maybe she needs to insulate the pipes better, I don’t know. I do know she has a very old house, and it probably needs updating in a lot of areas.

Hot Water In My Home

I am lucky that I never have a problem with my hot water. The problem I sometimes have is that it is too hot. I would like to turn down my hot water heater so that I know the water will never burn my daughter, but when I have done that in the past my dishes are not clean when they come out of the dishwasher.

I have to pay more attention to her when she attempts to use the water on her own so that she doesn’t burn herself. I think we have found a good temperature so the dishwasher works and she won’t burn herself, but I do have to keep an eye on it.

Problems With Your Hot Water

If you have problems with your hot water not being as hot as you think it should be, you may also have pipes that need some extra insulation. If you rent, you should mention it to your landlord.

If you are paying to heat that water, you should be able to get it heated in your sink and tubs. If you own your own home, you may have to call and take care of your hot water problem on your own. It might cost you some money, but you will save money in the future by eliminating some energy leaks.

Assessing The Hot Water Plumbing

I think I might take my favourite plumber and get him to assess the hot water plumbing on my mothers’ house. I will pay for any repairs to the system and give it to them as a gift from me, so that they do not feel obligated to pay me back.

It is about time some action was taken to repair their hot water system. I think the solution may be that they need a bigger hot water tank to hold more hot water. But I will wait for the professional assessment from my reliable plumber.

Now that winter is approaching I do not want my parents to have cold water baths in the middle of winter. I want them to have plenty of hot water.
