Holiday Gift Baskets With The Best Gift Ideas
By Katerina Octanova
Holiday gift baskets should always include the best gift ideas
to suit the preferences of the recipient of your gift. There are
many ways you can make a gift interesting and unpredictable.
If the recipient of your gift is a guy, then you may not want
to give him what every one else will give him on Christmas Day
like a bottle of cheap after shave. You should make an effort
to find out what he really wants for Christmas, and then include
it in your gift basket.
The same thought should be given for any recipient. I have received
gifts that I have never used from people that do not know me very
well and looks like they did not make the effort to find out what
I really wanted as a gift. Those that did make the effort, I was
pleasantly surprised.
Chocolate Covered Strawberries
My husband knows I love chocolate covered strawberries for Valentines
Day. Every year, he surprises me with a box of my most favourite
delicacies. He does not tell me he is about to buy them for me,
but he never ceases to surprise me when he presents me with my
most favourite gift. Even though we have been married for a few
years now, he still buys me the best and most pleasant Valentines
present.
This is why I always like to find out, discreetly, what each
person wants as a gift, before I surprise them with their ideal
holiday gift baskets.
Making Great Presents For Any Occasion
Holiday gift baskets make great presents because they’re so versatile.
There aren’t any restrictions on what you can put inside them
(except how much you put in), which makes them suitable for almost
any recipient during any season—friends, family, business associates
or whoever during New Years, Easter, Valentine’s Day, Halloween,
Thanksgiving, Christmas, a birthday, or whenever else an occasion
for gift giving arises.
Ideas For Holiday Gift Baskets
You can buy holiday gift baskets at tons of places but of course
you can always make your own if you want to make it extra special
and save some money. All it takes is a basket, some goodies and
stuffing, and some time and effort.
Some common holiday gift baskets are wine and cheese gift baskets,
flower baskets, fruit baskets, chocolate and candy baskets, and
Easter egg baskets, the quintessential holiday basket.
Food And Flowers Make A Perfect Gift
Easter egg baskets are obviously good for Easter. Wine and cheese
gift baskets are a good choice for New Year’s or for the wine
connoisseur. Flower baskets are nice for Valentine’s Day.
Holiday baskets with food offerings are usually good anytime
of the year. The kind of food they contain can be tailored to
the occasion, like fresh fruit for Thanksgiving, bat shaped cookies
for Halloween, and candy canes for Christmas.
Food With Beverages
But really, what you decide to put in your gift basket is up
to you. There’s no need to segregate gift basket content—why not
flowers and fruit, or food accompanied with beverages?
If it’s a birthday gift basket, you should put in whatever the
recipient likes to eat, which might be outside the scope of typical
holiday gift basket offerings. Also, the contents don’t necessarily
have to be edible. Candles, ornaments, beauty products and potpourri
are examples of non-edible goodies that make good gifts.
Mix And Match To Meet Preferences
Feel free to mix and match according to your preference and what
the recipient would prefer. If you’re not entirely sure what they
would specifically like and there’s no way of discreetly finding
out, you can include a variety of things out of which they’re
bound to like something. That’s another perk of the holiday gift
basket—it’s kind of like giving several presents at once
If you’re strapped for holiday gift ideas, go with the gift basket.
It saves you the trouble of having to find the perfect gift and
it’s more thoughtful than a gift certificate.
Because there aren’t any specific guidelines to what holiday
gift baskets have to contain, it’s a gift idea that can be switched
up and used regularly for years to come.
A Custom Gift Basket
The better gift ideas are included in custom gift baskets made
to suit the preferences of the receiver. If you know he likes
a specific brand of coffee, then include that brand of coffee
in your gift basket.
There are times you may not know their preferences, so you need
to make discreet enquiries without letting the cat out of the
bag. For example, you can ask general questions about favourite
food choices and then include those in the gift basket.
Pleasant Surprises Always Make The Best Gifts
Making the effort to make a custom gift basket, shows the effort
you have gone to please the receiver of your gift. Rather than
giving the same dull gift as everyone else has given, you have
instead given a thoughtful gift that will surprise the recipient.
After all, the best surprises always make the best holiday gift
baskets.
