Flavored Green Tea To Start Your New Day

By Fiona Harker

Flavored green tea is enjoyed by people who like to drink a delicious cup of green tea. Some people do not like the plain seaweed like taste of green tea and look to add flavours to help improve the taste.

You can make your tea sweeter, by the usual method of adding sugar, syrup or milk, but these sweeteners add the calories and you need to exercise to burn them off. Another option is to use artificial sweeteners. A better option, is to add natural fruit flavours like apple, lemon or fruit juice. Freshly squeezed lemon juice is a popular favourite.

These are some of the many ways you can enjoy flavored green tea.

A New Sweeter Flavour For Green Tea

Green tea is supposed to be good for you, which is why many people drink it nowadays. However, some people are turned off by its seaweed-like flavor.

This distaste has given rise to creations such as green milk tea and the green tea latte that give green tea a new, usually sweeter flavor. The funny thing is that green tea is already flavored, but people understand what you mean when you distinguish plain green tea from flavored green tea.

Adding Calories With Sugar And Syrup

Sugar does tend to make things taste good, and flavored green tea is no exception. Green tea is a popular dessert flavor that can be found in ice cream, frozen yogurt, milkshakes, cake and other sweets.

There are little remnants of the original taste in artificially sweetened green tea—it’s almost a different flavor entirely when milk, sugar and syrup are added. Adding sweet ingredients might enhance the flavor of green tea, but it can also enhance the number of calories.

Natural Fruit Flavours

Green tea is healthy, but flavored green tea can be another story. It tastes great but there’s a price to pay. Just because you’re drinking something that includes green tea doesn’t necessarily mean you’re reaping the health benefits.

But flavored green tea doesn’t have to be unhealthy. There are other forms of flavored green tea that can be sweet and delicious, but better for your body. Fruit flavor is a way to naturally sweeten green tea. You can add pieces of fruit like apple or mango or add fruit juice from lychee or pomegranate. The fruit you choose depends on your preference.

A Fresher Taste With Fresh Leaves

In the midst of your experimentation with flavors, it doesn’t hurt to give plain green tea another try. The flavor of your green tea can depend on factors such as whether you use fresh leaves or a tea bag and whether you use filtered or tap water.

You can bring a deeper flavor out of your green tea if you use the right ingredients. Fresh leaves obviously provide a fresher taste, and depending on where you live, the tap water might have different contents that can alter the taste of green tea.

The temperature of the water is also a factor. Letting boiling water cool down a bit before pouring it in preserves the flavor. Fresh leaves combined with purified water at the right temperature are most likely to make the best flavored green tea.

Relaxing With Your Family And Friends

After all, taking these steps, will ensure you are getting the most delicious green tea. Especially when you are sitting on the deck with your family and friends, watching the sun go down one more time. This is the time to enjoy each others’ company and reflect on moments in life, that has brought you great joy.

You can discuss the birth of your children, the coming of Christmas holidays, the first day you met your wife, the day you moved into your new home, the day you baked your first birthday cake, the times you celebrated special family events. You may even consider balancing the conversation with moments of despair and coming out together to meet the light.

These are all moments you can discuss with your family while enjoying a cup of flavored green tea.

Did You Know?

What is the purpose of a tea maker?
A tea maker is similar to a coffee maker and is designed to make it easier and more convenient to enjoy tea, either warm tea or iced tea, on a regular basis without the hassles of traditional tea making and brewing.

Tea makers vary in size and style and in the type of tea making they are meant for, as some are better suited for brewing tea from loose tea leaves while others are set up to make tea from tea bags, and some models are able to accommodate either style of brewing.

One key advantage is that they make it simple to have a cup of tea at any time of the day, lending to the overall sense of relaxation associated with a good cup of tea.
