Drinking Water Supplies For Your Home And Business
By Imogen T Stubbs
If you use well water or your source water has a horrible taste,
then you may need to review your options and think about purchasing drinking water supplies
to help make your water taste better and safer for consumption.
You don’t want to give the bottled water industry all of your
hard earned money, just to buy a two dollar bottle of Fuji water
because it’s marketed as the world’s best. Your tap water may
be the source you need to turn to for your water needs. Think
about that before you start whipping out your credit card.
Water Purifiers To Clean Out Your Drinking Water
Water purifiers are probably the number one drinking water system
currently on the market. The purifier takes out any impurities
found in the water supply. Well water definitely tastes different
than city tap water or bottled water.
This could be due to lime deposits found in the underground water
supply that is tapped into by your water system. It can leave
a build up of lime in your bathtub, sinks and even your hot water
heater, which can cause the element to burn out or cause the entire
heater to become useless. Lime build up is hard to remove so most
people opt for a purification system to help remove it from the
water. Water softeners can be expensive though.
Bottled Water
Another option instead of the softening system is to use bottled
water for your drinking needs. This is really applicable to city
water since well water will still need to have a softener for
the lime deposits. The purification system can take out the boiled
water taste and provide you with sparkling water.
Other drinking water supplies may be to have water delivered
to your home. Water coolers are a great way to save money on bottled
water and have it readily cooled and ready to drink. You may also
consider purchasing a refrigerator that comes with its own water
purification system built in and dispenses water, as well as ice,
in the door.
Shop Around For The Best Drinking Water Supplies
Before you make a big purchase of drinking water supplies you
should shop around town. There are many retail stores that sell
water supply systems and purification systems for your home or
office.
Most are quite reasonable and you can even find companies that
will deliver the water to your home or business. They even come
in and change the empty jugs out so you do not have to fear spilling
a huge jug of water all over the place. The downside to home delivery
businesses is that you may have to sign a contract.
However, if you really want clean, cold water, then it may be
worth the money to sign up for a delivery service.

Did You Know?
What is the Safe Drinking Water Act?
In 1974 Congress passed the Safe Drinking
Water Act as a way to monitor the drinking water standards of
all US public drinking water facilities. It does not cover well
water but it does cover bottled water facilities. It does cover
ground well water sources where public water facilities tap into
though and of course rivers, streams and lakes.
How does it protect me?
It keeps your drinking water safe from pollutants,
harmful chemicals and runoffs from farm pesticides and other dumping
into the water that you drink. Before 1974 there was a real problem
with contaminants making their way into the homes of citizens
who were ingesting such pollutants as arsenic and lead. Both of
which we now realize can cause death and cancer.
