Decorated Sugar Cookies For The Next Childrens' Party

By Corrina. P. Steinz

Decorated sugar cookies are usually given out at children’s parties. As soon as the cookie plate comes out and placed on the cookie table, the cookies are quickly jumped upon and the cookie plate is empty within minutes.

That is why I usually bake a couple of plates full of decorated sugar cookies, especially when there are a lot of children around. The recipe for decorated sugar cookies is my favourite cookie recipe, as it reminds me of my childhood.

Everyone Likes To Eat Cookies

Everyone has a favorite recipe for cookies. Maybe they are low fat cookies that you can eat anytime you want to, or peanut butter cookies for a delicious, nutty treat.

Maybe they are decorative cookies, or maybe they are extremely simple. I don’t care how much of a health food nut you are, what food sensitivities or allergies you have, or what your personal tastes are – everyone likes to eat cookies now and then.

Frosting And Sprinkles

My personal favorite are decorated sugar cookies. You see, I like almost all flavors of cookies. I like oatmeal raisin cookies, double chocolate chip cookies, pecan cookies – you name it and I probably like it.

For me, the cookie is made not so much by the ingredients but by the frosting and sprinkles. What is so great about decorated sugar cookies is that the look of the cookie mimics how you feel when you eat it.

When you eat a decorated sugar cookie, you are not just having a snack, but a mini party.

Reminds Me Of My Childhood

I guess what I like so much about decorated sugar cookies is that they bring me back to my childhood Christmas family celebrations. We would always get a decorated sugar cookie basket from my grandparents, and would begin almost immediately.

Bake and Decorate Cookies

Nowadays, I bake and decorate cookies. You see, I have grandchildren of my own and I want them to feel the same joy that I felt, when I got decorated sugar cookies from my grandparents.

They all have very different tastes, but they all seem to like my sugar cookies best of all, so those are the ones that I make most of the time.

Kids Like Decorated Sugar Cookies

I know that the kids like them because I have watched them eat them before. When they come over, sometimes I will make decorated sugar cookies for them, then stand back and watch the carnage ensue. It is always pretty entertaining.

If you have never made decorated sugar cookies by yourself, you should review your options and try it. Fresh cookies are always better than store-bought ones, And there is nothing more satisfying than feeding the people you love your own cookies. Baking for people is a joy like no other.

Freshly Baked Always Taste Best

The decorated sugar cookies seem to taste best just after they have been freshly baked and are still slightly hot. They taste delicious and crumble in your mouth.

While I am baking them, I usually eat one or two myself, just to make sure they are properly cooked. Well that’s my excuse and I am going to stick with it!

Look, if the children do not eat them, I would eat them all myself! Including the crumbs.

Just like, when I was a child.
