Christmas Party For Kids In Your Neighbourhood

By Katerina Octanova

It’s no secret that kids love Christmas; with no school and lots of presents, what’s not to love? If you have been thinking about having a Christmas party for kids and you have lots of kids in the neighborhood, then there are some really great holiday party ideas that are fun for both the kids and parents alike.

Why not get together with all of your neighbors and have a neighborhood kids Christmas party? you can set up different party themes at different neighbors houses and have the kids go from house to house with something different to do at each house they go to.

A great Christmas party game idea at the first house would be to have the kids start in the backyard and build snowmen, forts or whatever they can imagine.

Pin The Carrot On The Snowman

You can incorporate different Christmas games into it, such as pin the carrot on the snowman or find Rudolph’s nose, where you set up a cutout of a reindeer and hide his red nose somewhere for the kids to find. You can always handout prizes for the fastest, or slowest, etc.

For the next house you may want to have some hot chocolate and other warm goodies waiting, as they will very likely be cold from playing outside. Also, why not set up some tables with different materials they can use for arts and crafts and let them make some Christmas decorations?

Decorate A Christmas Tree

They can make their own decorations for the Christmas party and you could have a tree at this house that is just for them to decorate, using the different things that they have made just for that purpose. Take a few Polaroid’s and have some magnetic backing that they can cut out and place on the backs of the pictures for their parents as Christmas gifts.

A great Christmas party theme idea for kids and adults alike is a Christmas scavenger hunt. You can make it family against family, girls against boys or whatever you choose; however, it is always a good idea to make sure that there are older people along if some of the kids are very young; to lend a helping hand if it becomes necessary. So, give them a list of Christmas related items and let the hunt begin!

Singing Out Their Hearts Around A Piano

After the scavenger hunt it is a good bet that everyone will be ready for a little rest and warmth, and probably a little hot chocolate wouldn’t hurt either. At the next home consider making it a music stop.

A piano would be good but everyone can still have a good time without one if you have enough sheet music to go around and they have a willingness to sing their hearts out. A nice fire in the fireplace to perhaps pop some corn or roast marshmallows will be instantly popular, or even have everything set up where the kids can make their own S’mores as a special treat.

This gives everyone a chance to wind down, warm up and chat about this great Christmas party for kids.

Did You Know?

How should gifts be handled during a Christmas party?
Giving gifts at a Christmas party can be a bit hectic. Sometimes you know exactly what to get that person and other times you may be at a complete loss. If your Christmas party ideas involve gift giving then you may want to start looking early in the year. Just pay attention to what someone has been talking about.

Chances are they will let you know, without being aware so, of the perfect gift idea for them. If money is a problem then you can always make a gift. Sometimes it is the gifts that are homemade that turn out to be the best presents of all. The one thing you definitely want to make sure of is to ensure that everyone at your party receives a gift.

To do this you can play games where inexpensive gifts are exchanged or you can draw names. That way everyone will have something and get to participate.
