Christmas Ideas For A Family Party
By Katerina Octanova
If you want to shake up your holiday a little this year, consider
a few different Christmas party themes. If you live in a warm
climate, there are some Christmas ideas that may work really well
for your holiday party this year.
There are some people who actually miss the cold and snow that
is normally associated with the festive season, so if you live
where snow is not possible, then why not create your own "snowy"
Christmas?
Naturally, you want the environment to be cold or cooler at the
very least, so about an hour before everyone is due to arrive
be sure to turn your thermostat way down and if you have any fans,
ceiling or stand alone, be sure to put them on as well.
Fluffy Christmas Snow
Just be sure that your party invitations indicate that everyone
should dress warm or to at least bring a sweater, scarf, etc.
You will need Christmas party decorations and since it is to be
a snowy Christmas, there are a few different ways that you can
review your options and create your own snow for the occasion.
You can take a 3 foot piece of styrofoam and cut it up into about
4 inch pieces, or for a more fluffy looking snow you can take
a sharp paring knife and run it lightly over the side of the styrofoam
in a "shaving" manner. Other Christmas ideas for adding
snow to your party include putting it on the tree. For this you
will need 2 cups of soap flakes.
Add Some Glitter On The Christmas Tree
If you can’t find them just make your own by using a bar of soap
and a cheese grater. As well, you will need 3 tablespoons of water
and 2/3 cups of liquid starch. Put the flakes and starch in a
bowl and slowly add the water while mixing with a beater; it thickens
as you blend it.
You then take the mixture and paint it onto the branches. For
a little extra sparkle add some glitter to the mixture as well.
Get The Fireplace Going And Roast Some Chestnuts
When it comes to the menu and refreshments you will want to keep
with the Christmas party theme, so be sure to include hot chocolate
and perhaps hot spiced rum. If you have a fireplace, make sure
it is going and perhaps roast a few chestnuts while you are at
it.
Making popcorn using a fireplace is a good idea but if you do
not have one, then consider getting some jiffy pop for the stove
and just create the illusion of fireplace popcorn.
Fights With Snowballs
If you need a few holiday party game ideas for your party, then
consider building a snowman inside the house using styrofoam or
something similar. Other Christmas ideas for games may include
having a snowball toss or fight; make the snowballs out of several
marshmallows wrapped and tied together inside plastic wrap.
Just use your imagination and you are sure to come up with several
more ideas on your own.

Did You Know?
How can I make an office Christmas party great?
There are lots of Christmas party ideas to
be found if you know where to look for them. The best place is
the internet. But as you will find out, many of those sites cater
to home Christmas parties.
An office Christmas party is a bit different
because there are going to be more "rules" you have to follow.
You may have coworkers that do not celebrate Christmas because
of their religious beliefs so you have to take that into account.
You can, however, make it a holiday party so that everyone feels
comfortable.
You can have gag gifts, games and plenty
of great finger foods to make the office party a true success.
One idea is to ask people to bring a dish or potluck food that
they traditionally celebrate with.
It is a great way to get conversations
started and you may even find a new recipe to add to your collection.
If your office party is going to be held outside of the office,
you may want to consider serving alcoholic beverages.
But make sure that if you do, you provide
those non-drinkers fabulous alcohol free concoctions that they
will love just the same.
