Birthday Parties With Fabulous Planning Ideas

By Jane Kliperrs

What is the best part of having a birthday? That answer may well depend upon who you ask. For example, if you were to ask an elderly person, then their answer may simply be that they are glad to still be alive.

However, if you ask a kid (and that could actually cover several ages) you are likely to get birthday parties as the response. And, while most everyone loves a party it can be difficult for the person planning it; should there be a theme and if so what kind? That normally depends upon the age and gender of the recipient.

Birthday Party For A One Year Old

Some parents may think that having a birthday party for a one year old is a little silly, yet others feel that the first birthday is very special and will usually plan a big party.

This may actually be the easiest one for a theme since it mainly centers on the family and the new parents have probably had it planned for a while. However, even if it is not for a 1st birthday, there are different themes that you can choose for practically anyone.

Baseball Themed Birthday Parties

If the person having a birthday is a young boy, then there are several themes you can consider for the celebration. For example, baseball themed birthday parties are a popular idea and for invitations you can go with something standard, such as the shape of a baseball, or a bat or the mitt, with all of the party information on it.

Perhaps make a baseball diamond for the birthday gifts to be piled up on and for refreshments you can have a concession stand set up for the guests to get their drinks and bowls of peanuts and popcorn. For the birthday cake consider making one in the shape of a baseball jersey, you can add baseballs all around it and for a personal touch write the name of each guest on a baseball and they can take it home with them.

A Tea Party Theme

Of course, there are many different themes for girls as well; you can always go with a tea party theme. For invitations you can use real tea bags and replace the original tag with one that you have written all of the pertinent information on. Decorate a fresh white table cloth with birthday flowers and for party favors you can give each girl a demitasse cup with her name on it.

Planning birthday parties does make some people feel tense and anxious, with worrying about showing the birthday boy or girl just how important they are to you. Just be sure that your efforts come from the heart and you will no doubt have the satisfaction of knowing that you have given them a great birthday party that does indeed express how special they are to you, their family and their friends.
