Beers Tasting Club

By Barry J Smallhorn

Beer drinkers always have a preferred favorite that they choose when given the option. It may be beers brewed in domestic breweries that tickle their taste buds. For others, it may be an imported German beer or a Belgian beer.

There are hundreds of different breweries and if you include micro-breweries, then the number jumps into the thousands. Before you make that next beer purchase, you may want to give some other brands and varieties a chance. Who knows? You may find your taste palate expanding in new directions and wind up with a new favorite.

The Choice Of Beer Bottles, Cans Or From A Tap

You have three different choices when it comes to drinking your beer. You can have beers poured from beer cans, beer bottles or from a tap. The choice of bottles or cans is a long running debate. It is true that you will enjoy the taste and visual appeal of a beer better from a bottle but ultimately it does come down to a matter of preference. If you prefer the cans because of space in your refrigerator, then by all means grab a can.

There are a wide variety of types of brews out on the market today. You may prefer a pilsner as opposed to a stout. Some days you may want a nice refreshing lager over ale. On the scale of light to heavy beverages, you can go for a light tasting lager such as Bud light or may go for a heavy, thick stout such as Guinness. In addition to judging whether or not you want a thick drink, you have to consider micro-breweries and the seasonal beverages, such as those offered by Sam Adams.

Joining A Beer Tasting Club

There are enough different varieties of beers in the world that you could spend several years just trying them all. If this interests you, then you may want to consider finding a local pub that offers a tasting club. You join the club and every time you try a new beer, it is kept track of.

Most tasting clubs offer a reward after you try a certain number. So the next time you are embroiled in a debate over beer, you will be able to definitively say which beer is the best for you.
