21st Birthday Themes For A Party

Birthdays are a significant part of everyone’s life as are the
different stages to aging, growing and maturing, each one a milestone
in its own right. You go through the new born and toddler stages
to move on to "tweens" and teenagers all the way to
adulthood.
For many, the 18th birthday is a huge event, so close to being
allowed to do most everything as adults. However, the 21st birthday
is all of that and more, as that is truly adulthood in every aspect.
You are no longer daddy and mommy’s little girl or boy. Most
look forward to this day when they will be ready to get out and
spread their wings. With all of this in mind shouldn’t this birthday
be something really special? Why not have a birthday celebration
that will be remembered for years to come? It is a time of transitioning
from child to adult.
A Theme Party
Do you want something very special to commemorate this coming
of age 21st birthday party as one to be remembered forever? If
you are considering some type of a theme party, then ask the guests
to remember what they wanted to be when they grew up and come
to the party dressed as that occupation.
Did you want to be the first dancing ballerina on the moon? Then
attend the party wearing a tutu and toe shoes with a space helmet
on; or if you wanted to be a rodeo star consider going in chaps
and holding one of those stick horses.
Ideas For Invitations
For a different idea and one that will add a little excitement
to the birthday bash, have the invitations advise the guests to
wear exactly what they were wearing when they opened the invitation.
Naturally, if you were not wearing anything there might be a
slight problem showing up in your birthday suit and even some
pajama’s may be a little on the risky side, just use your best
judgment and everyone will enjoy a great birthday.
Everyone Dress Up As Mobsters In The Roaring 20s
Another unique way to celebrate a 21st birthday is to have everyone
dress as mobsters, the women can be gun molls or flappers and
you can try to find some imitation Tommy guns that were popular
in the roaring 20s. Of course, you can always go with an extremely
formal birthday celebration where everyone dresses in tuxedos
or ball gowns and incorporate some type of a ballroom dancing
competition.
Since not everyone is going to know how to ballroom dance, consider
having a dance teacher come in for the first part of the celebration
and offer some tips and moves to the guests before the competition.
One more terrific idea is to have a masquerade party complete
with gorgeous feathered masks for the ladies and Zorro type masks
for the gentlemen with an unmasking at the end of the party.
